The Story of
Belle Love
Hi, I'm Brittany Loignon (she/her), a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), Tantra Reiki Master, and professional speaker. For over two decades, I've explored love, connection, and identity through academic research, personal experience, and transformative growth.
My journey into this work didn't begin with textbooks or therapy training; it started with a deep, lifelong search for love. For many years, I equated love with external validation, placing my worth in relationships and the roles I played for others. I didn't realize how much of myself I was giving away until I reached a breaking point. Postpartum anxiety, divorce, single motherhood, and stepping back into the world of dating all became mirrors that reflected just how far I'd drifted from myself.
That's when everything shifted. I stopped searching for love outside of me and began learning how to offer it inward through self-respect, boundaries, and honest reflection. I came to understand self-love not as a destination but as a daily practice. This awakening reshaped my life and gave rise to the kind of therapist I've become. As I deepened my understanding of love, I began to see it as something boundless that lives in many forms. Inspired by ancient Greek philosophy, I use the eight types of love as a framework to understand and explore the full spectrum of human connection.
Academically, my path began with a focus on deviance as a sociology major. I researched the rave subculture through a qualitative lens, using ethnographic research to study lived, embodied truths, and presented the results at an international sociology conference in 2006. That early work taught me how identity, meaning-making, and healing intersect, informing my current practice. This sociological theory reminds us that our sense of self is not fixed but shaped through social interaction and redefined as we reauthor our narratives.
I’m especially inspired by people who carry complexity: lovers, ravers, creatives, caregivers, professionals, spiritual seekers, and those who’ve been told they’re too much or not enough. Many of my clients challenge societal norms through ethical non-monogamy, identity exploration, or their connection to what I call “shadow cultures,” spaces I know intimately and respect deeply. Drawing on Carl Jung’s concept of the shadow self, I believe that healing often begins in the parts we’ve been taught to hide. These unseen aspects hold powerful truths, and through our work together, we can gently bring them into the light. If you live or work in these environments, you don't need to explain everything; I understand the nuance, the courage, and the care it takes to hold all of who you are. My style is collaborative, intuitive, and grounded in principles that allow me to walk beside you, supporting you throughout your reconnection with clarity, courage, and a capacity for change. Clients and peers have described me as a "catalyst for change" and "spiritual in essence, exuding grit and grace in equal measure." If you're craving something authentic, you're not alone, and you don't have to navigate it on your own. Let's begin where you are.
